Measure R

Supporters say the District receives no state or county funding for ongoing operations and relies on the current $22-per-year Special Parcel Tax paid by property owners within its boundaries. The Special Parcel Tax currently provides approximately 70% of the District’s $1.1 million annual operating budget. As costs continue to rise, the District has taken significant steps to reduce expenditures, reducing staffing and overhead, conducting a comprehensive fee study to align program fees with actual costs, and designating a number of cost cutting measures. Despite these efforts, revenues cannot keep pace with increasing insurance, utility, maintenance, and repair costs, putting at risk the District's ability to continue to provide consistent recreational facilities and programs for the community.

A YES vote on this measure means: you support increasing the special parcel tax.
